So helpful

(moving a heavy hospital chair)

Wonderful Wife: “Oww.”

Little Miss Thing, age 6: “What’s wrong, Mama?”

WW: “Oh, I think I just strained a muscle in my arm a little.”

LMT: “Would it help if you rubbed my foot?” (sticks foot in air)

WW: “Uhh… yes. Yes, it would. How did you know?”

LMT: “I’m smart.”

Medicated

(soft whiny voice) “Oooo… my tummy really hurts…”

“I’m so sorry, kiddo. Where does it hurt?”

(soft whiny voice) “oooo… everywhere… oooooo”

“What do you think would help your tummy?”

(loud and clear) “SKITTLES.”

But you know… it’s hard to argue with a six year old in a hospital bed.

The Arrival

I have arrived!!!

Little Miss Thing is demanding back scratches and piggy back rides. So she’s mostly back to normal.

We’re mostly just waiting for some test results. The doctors are really happy with how she’s responded to the medicine, so no surgery. Probably released tomorrow. But someone is pretty grumpy about being in the hospital for 2 days of her Florida vacation.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and suggestions and whatnot.
