Reality

I’m pondering fantasy versus reality today.

I spent the weekend playing in a fantasy LARP, out in the woods gathering firewood and starting campfires; hiking for hours; identifying animals tracks in the snow. I stood in awe of the powerful, muffled beauty of a soft, slow snowfall. We setup camp and ate and drank like kings all weekend with only the most basic of modern conveniences.

Back in “reality”, most “normal” people spent the weekend in bars, in front of a TV, staring at over-sized men wearing colorful tights and hard plastic armor, fighting over a ball. Which is more real?

Let’s just say I’m happy with my choice.

My Crib

A little sad today that the baby is not a baby anymore. We’re not having any more kids, so this is the last baby. We moved the crib out of the house over the weekend, so it’s the end of an era. That’s just a little sad.

On the upside… no more diapers. So, we’ve got that going for us. Which is nice.
