The Layover, Miami Style

Landed in Miami for my 3-hour layover! Definitely the closest I’ve ever been to the Equator. REALLY HUMID. Not a lot of Vikings here. Now to find some fabulous Cuban food without leaving TSA zone.

UPDATE: Found a delicious, colorful Cuban lunch for my layover: La Carreta Restaurant. I had a  breaded pork chop, split pea soup, beans and rice, veggies. It’s airport Cuban, but it’s  still Cuban! Yes, I got flan for dessert!

Unlucky Seat

They just announced the flight is 100% full, so no exit row or bulkhead upgrade for me.

Oh well, that’s why chiropractors exist.

Now all the other passengers in the waiting area keep giving me nervous looks like, “Please God don’t let Hagrid be sitting next to me.”

Cool Tech, Bad Reason

Flying to Florida with no notice because your youngest was rushed to the hospital is not the best situation, but pretty cool to pull over, fire up the hotspot on my  phone, turn on my laptop and book a flight. Took all of about 7 minutes, start to finish. Not thrilled in any way about the trip — but the technology is cool.
