My Oldest Girl is doing great. They say she’s the star of the day because she is bouncing back incredibly fast with so little complications. Currently adjusting pain meds to avoid the highs and lows but not totally knock her out.

Sassy
Well, she’s in and out of the anesthesia. When she’s awake, she’s getting pretty sassy about wanting some water, which she can’t have for another hour.
For anyone not up to speed, in my family, getting sassy with the nurses is the single best indicator that a Maynard is on the way to recovery. So this makes me very happy.
Pre-Op
Six hours of pre-op meetings, testing, tours and more meetings. Thanks to the wonderful folks at the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and St. Vincent’s Pediatric Heart Hospital, but I’m exhausted. And I’m not the one who got poked, prodded and scanned mercilessly all day.
