Me: “So, I’ve been doing yoga for two weeks. I’m a yoga expert now.”
My Oldest, age 15: “Oh, really? I can totally kick your butt at yoga. Competitive yoga.”
Me: …
Me: “I dont think yoga is competitive.”
MO: “Not with that attitude.”
Me: “So, I’ve been doing yoga for two weeks. I’m a yoga expert now.”

MO: “Not with that attitude.”
In positive news, today I moved from “enjoying yoga” to “craving yoga every day.”
I strongly suspected for years that I would enjoy yoga, and now I really wish I would have looked into it many years ago.
I encourage everyone to make an effort to try yoga sooner than later – and really all those other things you’ve promised yourself you’d try “someday.”
Just finished my third yoga session, just me and a yoga mat, watching a YouTube video in the living room. Super slow, super simple starter stuff. My first impressions are that:
1) Based on soreness later, I’m using my muscles much more than it feels like I am during the sessions. Which is awesome.
2) It’s very calming, just going through the motions. Which is really nice.
3) It’s all pretty easy to do right off the bat, but I can tell it would take a lifetime to perfect.
And 4) You’re working against your own weight, so let’s just say downward dog is pretty difficult when you weigh 400 lb.
