Me: “There’s no hurry, honey. Being an adult is not as much fun as it seems.”
LMT: “Yes it is! Adults get to drive and go on dates, and they make their kids do everything while they just sit and watch TV.”
Me: “You got me. Being an adult really is awesome.”
Danger Monkey, age 8: “I want to earn money while I sleep.”
Me: “Uh… OK. How do you plan to do that?”
DM: “Write a book and get it published and collect the money.”
Me: (Heart swells with pride)
Little Miss Thing, age 5: “Or you could learn to sleep walk and take money out of the bank.”
Me: (Glaring) “I’m watching you, sister.”
Little Miss Thing, age 5: “Can you walk me to my room?”
Me: “Why? Oh.. You know, it’s OK to be afraid of the dark.”
LMT: “I’m NOT afraid of THE DARK !”
Me: “Oh, sorry.”
LMT: “I’m afraid of the monsters that hide in the dark.”
