I really, really like that my 3 year old daughter insists on wearing mismatched socks. It started out as a fluke on mornings when she was rushed, and now she prefers it and refuses to wear matched socks. I just REALLY enjoy that spirit of creativity and non-conformity and fun.

My morning…
Wonderful Wife: “It is too cold this morning to be running around the house naked.”
Little Miss Thing, age 3: “But I’m a super hero.”
WW: “Then be a super hero wearing clothes.”
LMT: “But I want to be fast.”
WW: “Super heroes can be fast wearing clothes.”
LMT: “Not me.”
Flap this
Little Mist Thing, age 3, flapping her arms vigorously: “Look, Daddy. I’m flapping my wings so you know I’m a bird.”
Me: “That’s nice! But not only birds flap wings. Do you know of other things that flap wings?”
Ella: “Pteradons.”
Me: (slow blink) “Use your powers for good, kiddo.”
