Oh, Grow Up

Every time I come home, the kids hide and I pretend they are missing. When they finally jump out and “surprise” me, their squeals of delight are the most wonderful sound I’ve ever heard.

Part of me wants them to never grow out of our games.

And maybe we won’t.

Hello, Acme?

Today the two younger kids cut construction paper into strips and taped them end-to-end, to form a “tripwire.” Then they hid and held their “tripwire” knee high across the hallway, stifling giggles as they called me out to the living room.

So of course I pretended to not see it and “trip.” They were incapacitated with their hilarity and cleverness.

My only concern is… I’m pretty sure this is how Wile E. Coyote got his start.
