I-Can-Read book at school book fair: $3.99.

Minecraft book: $6.99.

Adventure Time graphic novel: $9.99.

All three kids happily (and silently) reading in the car for an hour… PRICELESS.

Yes, the fact you couldn’t afford them when you were a kid IS TOTALLY a valid reason to buy books for your kids. Even when the house is full of books.

I mean… It’s Books, right? Books.

Half Price Redemption

I love Half Price Books! I just bought the kid 9 paperback classics… All Caldecott and Newberry award winners… And a tote bag… For $8.00. Most important to me is that those books won’t end up in dumpsters. Another mind is opened, or three, and then we’ll pass them on.

I have a problem with buying Beverly Cleary books on clearance for my kids. I cant help myself. But if giving a kid a tattered old copy of Runaway Ralph is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.
